What makes our Chinese training program so distinguishing from others? The following features might be the answer:

                          Relevant Information

In our regular Chinese program, winter semester usually starts at the beginning of September and ends at the beginning of January, while summer semester usually from early March to late June. Short-term program is often available during summer vacation. Please contact us for more details on short-term programs.

There are 16 teaching weeks in each semester, with 20+ class hours (Chinese classes plus selective courses) each week. Chinese classes are in the mornings from Monday to Friday, and the selective courses & tutoring are in the afternoons. Depending on students’ demands every semester, selective courses usually include China economy lectures and various cultural classes.

“New Practical Chinese Reader”, “Chinese Tutorial” and “Developing Chinese” (published by Beijing Language and Culture University) are mainly used as textbooks, together with supportive textbooks like “General Information of China” and “Elementary Business Chinese Dialogue” as well as our own teaching materials.

3           Application fee should be paid upon application or registration.
4           Tuition should be paid within the first two weeks of study (Chinese training program) or within one week before a semester (Degree programs). Tuition can be paid by semester or annually.
5           Room rate can be paid by semester/year or at the beginning of every month.
6           All fees are payable with Chinese RMB. No foreign currency or credit card/traveler’s check is accepted.
7           There are 20 class hours/per week for our Chinese Program. Chinese Program candidates can choose to attend full or partial classes according to their needs, but please notice that:
a. The candidates can pay partial tuition according to classes they attend, under their own visa/residence permit;
b. If the candidates will have our university to apply visa/residence permit for them, they have to pay:
  a full semester’s tuition, if they register before 9th week of a semester, or
  half semester’s tuition, if they register after 9th week (included) of a semester.

The College of International Education of SWUFE was established in 2004. It is the combination of the former Foreign Students Education Center and the SWUFE Training Center for Personnel Working/Studying Abroad. The College of International Education has the following major goals:

*          To enroll and train foreign students who pursue Chinese language training (non-degree) at SWUFE.
*          To examine the applications of foreign students who pursue degree study at SWUFE, and enroll the students on behalf of the university.
*          To implement student exchange programs and other student-related international programs between SWUFE and other partner universities.
*          To cooperate with other institutes, organizations and enterprises on programs concerning recruitment of foreign students and studying abroad of Chinese students.

SWUFE began enrolling and training foreign students in 1996. In 2001, it was listed as one of China’s key universities for enrolling and training foreign students. In 2004, the College of International Education was established together with a new foreign students building, equipped with advanced facilities. There have been hundreds of self-support, scholarship and exchange students studying at SWUFE since the establishment of the College of International Education, coming from over 40 countries around the world.

The College of International Education has a faculty of more than 20 full and part time professors and teachers, many of whom have experience teaching in foreign countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa. Highly qualified, our faculty is among the top in western China.

 国际教育学院留学生工作主要包括境外留学生的招收、培养和管理;与境外大学交换留学生等方面。 我院至今已培养美国、法国、德国、菲律宾、土尔其、澳大利亚、蒙古、韩国、英国、日本、加拿大、以色列、俄罗斯、泰国、爱尔兰等国家的留学生数百名。国际教育学院拥有较为完善的教学和生活设施、优良的管理和服务经验,愿意且能够为广大的海外留学生提供优质的教育与服务。
    设在我院的“国家留学基金委西南财大出国培训中心”是国家留学基金委“入世后金融行业急需人才培养计划”的执行机构,也是目前唯一设在大学里的国家公派出 国受理点,是国家留学基金委与金融行业联系的桥梁。国内各金融主管机构和金融机构的从业人员申请国家公派出国资助均由该中心负责受理和初步审查。此外,该 中心还与国内金融机构合作进行出国预备和涉外专业等方面的培训。
