The International Chinese Language Day
Since 2010, the International Chinese Language Day has been celebrated on April 20 every year. The date was selected from Guyu, which represents Grain Rain, one of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar. It commemorates the contribution of Cang Jie, the founder of Chinese culture, in writing Chinese characters.
