Application Notice for SWUFE 2022 “Chengdu Government Scholarship for International Students”
(The Chinese text of this notice shall be deemed the original. In the event of any dispute or misunderstanding as to the interpretation of the language or terms in this article, the Chinese language version shall prevail.)
In order to further push forward the educational exchange and cooperation between China and “the Belt and Road” countries, Chengdu and its international sister cities (including the international friendly and cooperative cities, hereinafter referred to as “Sister Cities” collectively), as well as attract more international students to study in higher education institutions located in Chengdu City, Chengdu Municipal People’s Government sets up “Chengdu ‘the Belt and Road’ Government Scholarship for International Students” and “Chengdu Government Scholarship for International Students from Sister Cities”. The application information is as follows:
1. Scholarship Types
(1) Chengdu “the Belt and Road” Government Scholarship for International Students (here in after referred to as “the Belt and Road” Scholarship)
(2) Chengdu Government Scholarship for International Students from Sister Cities (here in after referred to as Sister Cities Scholarship)
2. Eligibility
(1) Applicants of “the Belt and Road” Scholarship should be citizens from “the Belt and Road” countries with foreign nationalities and valid passports. (Please visit the website https://eng.yidaiyilu.gov.cn/info/iList.jsp?cat_id=10076 to check “the Belt and Road” countries.)
(2) Applicants of Sister Cities Scholarship should be citizens from the sister cities with foreign nationalities, or should be born in or have studied, worked, or lived in the Sister Cities of Chengdu. Please check the List of Sister Cities in Attachment 1.
(3) Applicants should be in good health and get good grades.
(4) Applicants for bachelor’s degree studies should meet the requirements of Admission Notice for 2022 SWUFE Bachelor’s Degree Programs (International Students) (https://international.swufe.edu.cn/info/1097/2389.htm).
(5) Applicants for master’s and doctoral degree studies should meet the requirements of Admission Notice for 2022 SWUFE Master’s and Doctoral Degree Programs (International Students) (https://international.swufe.edu.cn/info/1097/2391.htm).
(6) Applicants shall apply for SWUFE directly.
3. Scholarship Details
(1) Doctoral students
CNY 30,000 yuan/year, with the period of no more than 3 years.
(2) Master students
CNY 25,000 yuan/year, with the period of no more than 3 years.
(3) Bachelor students
CNY 20,000 yuan/year, with the period of no more than 4 years.
4. Application Period
April 20th, 2022 ~ June 1st, 2022 (UTC/GMT +08:00)

6. Scholarship Application
(1) Apply online
Applicants shall all submit an online application at http://swufe.17gz.org and upload all documents required.
Besides the documents required in the related Admission Information, applicants shall also submit the documents below:
A. Application Form for Chengdu “the Belt and Road” Government Scholarship for International Students (Attachment 2) or Application Form for Chengdu Government Scholarship for International Students from Sister Cities (Attachment 3)
B. Identity Confirmation Letter (Attachment 4, only for Sister Cities Scholarship applicants)
The official confirmation letter should be issued by related departments/authorities (in charge of international affairs) in Sister Cities .
(2) Application fee
The application fee is CNY 600. Please follow the instruction at SWUFE International Students Service System for online payment. Applications without an application fee will not be processed. The application fee is not refunded under any circumstance.
(3) Important notes
A. All documents should be presented in English or Chinese. If not, a notarized translated version in English or Chinese is mandatory. Documents without translation in English or Chinese are not valid.
B. If it’s necessary, SWUFE will require applicants to submit additional application documents.
C. Application documents must be clear, authentic, and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded documents. For those who falsify documents or qualifications, their qualifications for application, admission or student status will be abolished immediately according to relevant regulations.
7. Registration
(1) Scholarship awardees should register on time. Those who are unable to register on time for some reason must submit a written request to College of International Education, SWUFE in advance and get the approval from Chengdu Government. The scholarship will not be reserved for those who fail to register on time and do not obtain consent.
(2) Original application documents will be checked upon registration. If fraud is found, admission and scholarship eligibility will be canceled.
(3) All fees of the program that are required in the related Admission Notice shall be paid by awardees upon registration.
8. Other Notes
(1) Semi-annual Review is required for awardees. The scholarship is granted at the end of each semester if the awardees pass the semi-annual assessment. If not, the scholarship will be canceled or terminated.
(2) Awardees will not be offered any other Chinese Government Scholarship, Sichuan Provincial Scholarship, or any other type of Chengdu Government Scholarship during the study at SWUFE.
(3) If the contents of this Application Notice are inconsistent with the documents of relevant national departments due to any adjustments, the latter shall prevail.
