    World Forum ”Transnational Corporation And Chinese Economy:

    On November 7th- 8th, the world forum themed onTransnational Corporation And Chinese Economy: Challenge And Opportunitywas held in Hong Yuan Building. Altogether 30 scholars and professors , from Institutions of higher education, research centers and state departments home and abroad attended the forum, as well as 150 teachers/students of SWUFE.

    Vice President Yin Shuangqing delivered a speech on behalf of SWUFE. He detailed reform and international programs of SWUFE, emphasizing progress made in conducting cooperative research and bringing in overseas talents. He also wished the forum a great success.

    Key speeches were made by Prof. Peter Koveos of Syracuse University, Mr. Masataka Fujita, head of the United Nations trade development organization in Asia-Pacific area, Mr. He Weiwen, Vice Chairman of GASME and Former Economic and Commercial Counselor at Chinese Consulate General in New York, Prof. Aybar Ahmet Sedat of Edin University, Tang Jianmin, senior engineer in Industry Canada and Gu Wulong, senior in Statistics Canada. Besides, there were 8 parallel sessions and 35 theme speeches discussing topics like international investment, international trade, international technology spillover, international capital and social capital, economic integration, international environment and resource, international human capital and international economic structure. Chairing the parallel sessions were Mr. Deng Hugh, Chief editor of Transnational Corporation Review, Associate Prof. Lu Yi of National University of Singapore and Wulong Gu, senior expert of Statistic Canada.

    The forum was co-hosted by Transnational Corporation Review, Center for International Commercial & Investment Arbitration of Columbia University, Business School of Laval University, Business School of Central University of Finance and Economics and Economy and Management Institution of Chongqing University. The main focus was the challenges and opportunities for Asia-Pacific economy and economic systems emerging from China’s deeper engagement in global economy. The forum is of great significance to promote China’s international trade and international commerce.
