    Symposium on Higher Education for International Students

    One Belt One Road Initiative

    On June 22, 2016, the College of Interantional Education, headed by Dr. Liang Ting, convened a symposium on Higher Education for International Students in the Context of"The Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative". The "One Belt One Road Initiative" creates new opportunities for Chinese and international students to study abroad and in China. In order to deepen the understanding of the "One Belt One Road Initiative" and it's advantages for scholars and students in a globalized and international higher education, the College of International Education at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics welcomed scholars and experts from a mix of Chinese and foreign partner universities and colleges to this symposium.

    Symposium on Mutual Development and Prosperity

    While the "One Belt One Road Initiative" is a major development strategy of China, higher education for international students is playing a more and more important role in all fields of academic, cultural, and economic exchange, including cultural exchanges, regional cooperation, increasing mutual respect and understanding and trust among the countries along the "One Belt One Road Initiatve", promoting mutual development and properity. International scholars from Europe, the USA and Asia participated in this symposium. The Vice-President of the Berlin School of Economics and Law, Harald Gleissner, the South Korean Dean of the Solbridge International School of Business, Jerman Rose, the Dean of the International College of the Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Nopasit Chakpitak, were honorable guest speakers at this conference.

    Partnership Agreement

    The conference concluded with the signing ceremony of a partnership agreement between the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and the Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Thailand. Dr. Liant Ting, Dean of the International College at SWUFE, and Jerman Rose, the Dean of the International College of the Chiang Mai Rajabhat University signed the contract.
