Recently, the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, Society of Management Sciences and Engineering of China, and Systems Engineering Society of China held a press conference and jointly released the Recommended List of FMS Management Science High-quality Journals (Federation of Management Societies of China, hereinafter referred to as FMS), with the goal to recommend high-caliber journals of management sciences in China. Financial Innovation, the journal from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, is included in the recommended list.
On the request of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology, the three above-mentioned societies formulated the Recommended List of FMS Management Science High-quality Journals after various rounds of deliberation, based on the principles of peer review, value-orientation, and equivalent application. They adopted the main criteria with a focus on the quality and contribution of the articles published by the journals and the hybrid methods of qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Journal lists from developed countries and comments and suggestions of more than 200 experts from 32 disciplines were also taken into consideration in the formulation process. The list has reflected the consensus of the academic community to a large extent in that it was created on the basis of big data, scientific measurements, and broad academic surveys. It is of landmark significance to guide Chinese researchers in the field of management science to focus on important journals in their fields, to enhance the academic appeal and influence of high-quality Chinese journals, and to promote the further development of Chinese management science.
Financial Innovation was established in 2015, with a primary focus on the study of emerging financial instruments, financial technologies and financial products, aiming to provide an international platform for academic exchanges for cutting-edge research in the financial field in the era of e-commerce. At present, the journal has been included in 10 internationally renowned databases including SSCI, Scopus, DOAJ, ProQuest and Google Scholar. In 2020, its first impact factor reaches 2.964, ranking 14th among 108 journals included by SSCI in the field of finance, and its global ranking is located in Q1.
The inclusion of the Financial Innovation in the Recommended List of FMS Management Science High-quality Journals indicates that its operation philosophy of high threshold, high standard and high quality has withstood the tests in practice, and has been widely recognized by colleagues in China’s academic community. It is also a manifestation that SWUFE has yielded fruitful achievements in actively leading the "new finance" and enhancing the academic influence of the financial discipline.
