    Date:2021-01-28

On November 3, the "'Love Chengdu, Welcome FISU World University Games' Ceremony" was organized by various government departments. The ceremony was held in the Kuan Alley community. SWUFE international students from eight countries were invited to participate in this event to experience the street culture of Chengdu.

During the launch ceremony, five departments of Qingyang Government jointly released a declaration, inviting all guests to meet the unique urban charm and character of Chengdu. Martin, a Russian student of SWUFE, spoke at this ceremony as a representative of international students. He shared his feelings of studying and living in Chengdu, and expressed his love for Chengdu, a city that combines tradition and modernity.

After the launching ceremony, SWUFE international students and Chinese young friends formed two teams, starting from the Kuan Alley community in Shaocheng Street, and experiencing the profound cultural heritage while tasting the fantastic flavor of Chengdu cuisine. Yuan Tingdong, a scholar of the traditional Chengdu-Chongqing culture and the "Culture Singer", presented in the People’s Park as a surprise guest. He used vivid language to endorse the old Shaocheng culture of Chengdu, telling the stories of the old streets and discussing Sichuan's folk customs and culture with tourists.

For a long time, SWUFE has taken the initiative to take its social service responsibility. We actively expanded the ways for international students to learn and understand Chinese excellent traditional culture, and integrated internal and external resources through university-community and university-enterprise cooperation. SWFUFE has successively established a variety of cultural experience and social practice bases for international students with government departments at all levels in Qingyang District and Wenjiang District, allowing international students to experience the profoundness and unique charm of Chinese culture on the spot, which is well received by teachers, students and all walks of life.
