On November 27, the opening ceremony of SWUFE 2023 "Chinese Bridge" Delegation Online Program—Delegation for Cultural Exchange of the Contemporary "Land of Abundance" sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education and hosted by Southwestern University of Finance and Economics was grandly held. Mr. Xiao Hongchao, Vice Dean of College of International Education of SWUFE, members of the program team, and nearly a hundred students from Bulgaria, Belgium, Russia, Greece, Belarus, Poland and other countries gathered online to attend the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Xiao Hongchao delivered an opening speech. He introduced the implementation background of the "Chinese Bridge" online program and the basic situation of the university. He extended a warm welcome to all the students who actively signed up and sincerely invited everyone to visit, exchange and study at SWUFE. It is hoped that through this "Chinese Bridge", a bridge of language and culture that connects the world, we can build a bridge of "language exchange, cultural mutual learning, and spiritual communication."
Later, Ms. Jiang Linyi, the representative of Chinese teachers, introduced the curriculum, study guide instructions of this "Chinese Bridge" program to the participants. According to the actual situation and learning needs of the students, the program courses feature traditional Chinese cultural experience and multi-dimensional interactive communication, and have customized courses including general Chinese, shadow puppetry, Chinese knots, pastry art, etc. The program uses a combination of real-time teaching and recorded videos, as well as online tutoring, video appreciation, interactive Q&A, etc., to lead students to experience Chinese classes and cultural experience courses immersively, allowing students to understand and experience the unique Chengdu culture and modern China without leaving home.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the students took a group photo in front of the screen and were full of expectations for the upcoming online learning journey.
